DIHQA Starts on Ramadhan 8, 1427H

Dubai, UAE The annual Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) will commence from Ramadhan 8 1427 (Saturday - September 30, 2006). The award usually attracts a large pool of young Huffaz from countries thoughout the globe will see "new entrants" from Finland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Dagestan, Rwanda and Azerbaijan.This year will be the 10th edition.

Five reknown scholars have been approved to choose the best reciter. They are Dr. Sami Abdul Fattah Abdul Aziz (Egypt), Dr. Shaikh Salem bin Gram Allah Zahrani (Saudi), Sheikh Mohammed Falah Ismail (Kuwait), Dr. Sheikh Abu Bakr Fofana (Guinea) and Sheikh Mohammed Sidique Adam (India). Sheikh Mohammed Abdul Hadi Al Hilbaoi (Egyptian qari) was also named as a judge in the phonetics section (in last year's edition, a Terengganu scholar was named as one of the panel of judges).

As in previous years, malaysian-uae will host Malaysia's representative for iftar and teraweeh session. malaysian-uae will announce the date and details of the coming event.
